Leadership
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”— Barack Obama, 44th President of the U.S.

KEITH DUNBAR, Principal I.A.
I've been privileged to dedicate my career to serving New York City Public schools in various capacities, including as a teacher, dean, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Although my career has had many shining moments, I have never felt more fulfilled in my life’s work than in my time here at PS 6X. I believe in every child's potential to excel and change our community.
At PS 6X we are deeply committed to maintaining effective practices while constantly exploring innovative approaches to meet the diverse needs of our students. Strengthening communication with families and the community is paramount to me, and I am dedicated to enhancing instructional methods and prioritizing the holistic well-being of our students and their families.
Collaboration is at the heart of my approach. I'm unwavering in my commitment to working alongside the entire community to foster inclusivity and safety while maintaining high expectations for each of us. At PS 6X, we ensure every student has ample opportunities to succeed and feel a sense of belonging.
Your input is invaluable to our collective success. My door is always open, and I invite you to engage with us through avenues like our monthly 'Coffee with the Principal' event. Together, let's continue prioritizing our students' success and celebrating our achievements. I eagerly anticipate our ongoing partnership and the opportunity to work with our exceptional staff to uphold PS 6X as a thriving environment for every student.

LORRAINE RODRIGUEZ, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, Ed. D.
I began working for the Department of Education as a bilingual educator. During that time, my desire to have a positive impact on the lives of young students became my true calling. Since I started teaching bilingual education, I have also served as a teacher leader, a mathematics coach, and now an assistant principal, academically and socially empowering the students at PS 6X West Farms.

SUSAN K. AKER, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
I have served as an Assistant Principal at P.S. 6X The West Farms School since 2006. At P.S. 6X, we strive for every student to receive a solid foundation in their core subjects so that they can 'love learning' and 'inspire their world' in the present and in the future. We want all our students to feel valued and special daily from the moment they walk through the school yard into our building.
